she was a real witch
from the biggest city
his deal was midwest
sensibilities

clear as a bell, by candles
she would tell which gods she liked,
investigated stars,
suggested certain spells
(and because they frightened fairies
there were no bells)

      –
she very privately loves trees
in parks shared by thousandssound
from a city where sex is set free;
just dangerous/ lust languorous,
and sunsets more profound.

he very private loves less
in darkness shared by no one
from a place, lust  compounds
to dangerous/ love tenebrous.
a gift, the lifting of the sun.
