Honestly, I'm a Liar, & Other Balances & Imbalances

September 17, 2010

whirling ’round & ’round again

’till yr off & away from where you were

as if   in incantations

as if  the world would surely be a blur

with cloudy comes this smoky delirium

it’s the same sixties christmas lights

Kathy Darling & I looked on from the linoleum.

White Album permeated but she delighted

in creating inner scenery for every metaphor

in a Paul Simon poem.

Kathy Darling needed to love me

but was too young to know love better.

Kathy Darling needed to weep openly

that school hallway. Tears fall way

hard on ink run.

As the room swings back to this stop,

“‘Kathy, I’m lost’  Though I know”/ stop

“I’m empty and aching and i don’t know why”/stop

I’m sorry/ stop/ I was too young/stop/ to know love better/stop
