Words Fall, Spaces Would Fill

A man in a dilemma

A fool in such a fix

You’ll expect such a trainwreck

You’d see a face transfixed

And  torn.

Emboldened by her shine on him,

Words fall into place & into spaces between them

Would fill  with good feel

Words Go  &

Not torn.

Mornings, he went off his porch

He went off his porch

&  then got his ladder

So that he might hear

The rain much better.

He’d bet  his birds

Would sing out sooner

Than dawn, or than when the wet was done.

He’d fire up his  ford

Big swallow the usual

milk cream & whiskey

Aside his harsh coffee

and lighten things, his brain,

the night and rain.

mirror chatter

I’m asking

What would you do?

It’s not as if I’m asking

The world of you

Or taking my world for your other

I’m wondering

What would you do?

No one will watch once the fireworks are over

There’s   no  catch     if you bother.

look through my window

but from inside this time.

Beauty And Black

If you’re too tired to talk

If it’s too late for listening

My little time to tell you

But I think I just must tell you both

My dreams were dark   no  darker

Much darker than your bedroom

I’m afraid and I need to tell you

I want to tell you to hug me

And to let me under your blankets.

One morning I saw you and they were off

I stood  and  stared

You were the very best thing I ever saw

Both of you were so good  I cried.

I don’t want to wake you

Just my little time to tell you  both

My dreams were dark  no  darker.

Coffee Break Theology

The sight of a meteor

Might signal us

To kiss and cuss.

You’ll utilise your

Cues-to-Be,  or tries

To be..the spiritual

Beast  the best

Of us are.

We’ll take it.
